AFTER A WEEK off to rest, the Toronto Eagles headed down to 'Steel Town' to challenge the Hamilton Wildcats and secure their position in the top four.

In what was considered to be the match of the round, the Eagles continued their winning form defeating a competitive Wildcats side by 21points.

The game started as expected with both teams battling back and forth trying to gain momentum. The Eagles, selecting to kick with the wind first, manage to take a hard earned 15 point lead into the first break.

The second quarter started exactly the same as the first except the Eagles struggled to match the Wildcats intensity. This would prove to be a painful quarter for the Eagles as the Wildcats kicked 3 goals to the Eagles zero.

"I don't know what happen in the second but nothing seemed to work for us at all" stated Eagles backman Tasos Dimacakos "It was a quarter I was personally unhappy about."

With the wind behind them, the third saw the Eagles get back to some competitive football. More battles were being won around the ground and if it wasn't for some in accurate kicking, the Eagles could have gained a larger lead heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter was easily the Eagles best as they controlled the play all around the ground. Patient ball movement and accurate kicking help them get over the line and secure the 4 points.

Eagles coach Aaron Falcioni was happy with the way his side ran out the game but was a little disappointed with the rest of the match. "It was good that we won the match but as a team we have to work on some areas of our game."

Mark Peterson had a great final quarter for the Eagles contesting well in the forward line kicking 3 goals for the match. His presence in the forward line was a definite factor in the Eagles securing the win.

Midfielder Oliver Hayward also had a good match working tirelessly throughout the game to gain possession.

This weekend the Toronto Eagles battle the Toronto Downtown Dingo’s for second spot on the OAFL ladder.
