By Eaglesafc.com FOUR OF THE TORONTO EAGLES Australian players have been selected to represent the Australian All-Stars in the 2009 Canada Day Football Carnival. Centers Troy Marsh and Mark Peterson, half forward Salvatore Capoferri and ruck Ajit Alister have all made the squad set to face the Canadian national team, The Northwind, on July 1st. In his third year, Salvatore Capoferri stated "This will be the second time I've been selected in the All-star side which is a great accomplishment, especially with the Aussie talent this year." First year players Ajit Alister and Mark Peterson were both pleased with their selection. "This is something I've been looking forward to since I started this year" stated Alister "It's not every day you get to represent your country." For veteran Eagle Troy Marsh the selection was twice as pleasing as he was also selected as captain for the Australian All-stars team. "I feel honored that my peers feel that I'm worthy of captaining the Australian team." said Marsh "I'm looking forward to a great match on Wednesday." Eagles ruckman Danny Bernstein was also selected for the Australian team as an emergency.
