By Eaglesafc.com AFTER A FANTASTIC hit out the previous week, the Toronto Eagles have backed up their solid win against Guelph with a 43 point demolition of the Broadview Hawks. The Eagles once again showed their new hard running style and ran the Hawks off the park winning 16.4 (100) to 8.9 (57). The first quarter was a very one sided affair with the Eagles kicking four unanswered goals and restricting the Hawks to only 3 points. "That was one of the best quarters of footy I've seen from an Eagles side, we just ran so hard and the defence was very solid" Eagles full back Matt Bachinski stated. The second quarter was pretty much the same as the first with the Eagles pushing hard all over the ground and adding another three goals to the Hawk’s one, securing a 35 point lead heading into the long break. "This is the type of football I want the Eagles to be playing" stated Coach Aaron Falcioni "Hard running, contesting the football and working for your team mates is something the boys have taken to and are starting to deliver on the ground." The third quarter, known for being the premiership quarter, was the Eagles best and was seen by many as a statement to the rest of the league. The Eagles kicked eight goals to the Hawks one and ran rampart around the ground suffocating the Hawks into errors. Ruckman Ajit Alister dominated the centre winning almost every ruck tap and setting up midfielders Troy Marsh and Mark Peterson, who were complimenting his hard work with excellent delivery into the forward line. The forth quarter showed signs of the Eagles tired legs, as they allowed the Hawks to make the final score more respectable. "It's difficult for any team to play that hard running style of football for four solid quarters" Eagles president Les Milborn commented "Those first three quarters were sensational with a lot of running from the boys." Full forward Aaron Falcioni had a fantastic day out kicking 6 goals for the game in a dominant display up forward. Half forward flank Salvatore Capoferri, still suffering from a virus, also had a stand out performance running tirelessly all day and providing one of the highlights of the day, running 50 meters to contest and winning a certain Hawks inside fifty. From the backline to the forward line it was an impressive display of football by the Toronto Eagles. Next weekend the Toronto Eagles head to the nations capital to battle the Ottawa Swans.
