| Eagles win in capital |

By Eaglesafc.com THE TORONTO EAGLES have left the nations capital with a huge victory over the Ottawa Swans defeating them, 120 to 25. Though the score may say otherwise, it wasn't all smooth sailing for the Eagles as they didn't truly flex their muscle until half time. The Eagles started the game a little on the back foot after playing most of the side in a Div 2 game before the seniors. This was to avoid a forfeit and allow the Quebec Saints the opportunity to have their first game. While the Eagles ended up victorious winning 75 to 25, it did nothing to help their cause in the senior match. Some players were unable to focus on the game at hand and the effect was apparent on the ground with the Eagles leading the Swans by 1 point at the end of the quarter. The second quarter saw more of the same, with both teams playing some pretty average football and only 3 goals being kicked for the quarter. It wasn't until a halftime lecture by center-man Mark Peterson that the Eagles finally found some spark. "I just thought our approach for the game was awful" said Peterson after the game "I told the boys that we showed a total lack of respect for our opposition and that needed to change." And change it did, the Eagles came out firing in the third kicking 6 goals to none giving them a 49 point lead into the final break. The Eagles didn't let up in the fourth quarter kicking another 8 goals to the Swans three points and finished the game off in true Eagles style. After the match, coach Aaron Falcioni whilst happy with the win, stated "This was one of those games were the boys had to have a good look at themselves and realize that it doesn't matter who we play we need to go in there with our game plan." Troy Marsh had a stand out game for the Eagles racking up numerous possessions around the ground and finished with 5 goals. Rookie players Adam Farr and Brent Jensen also kicked their first goals for the seniors and Aaron Falcioni continued his scoring form with 5 goals. This weekend is a league bye so the Toronto Eagles will be back in action on July 4 versus the Hamilton Wildcats.
