THE TORONTO EAGLES have booked themselves a place in the 2009 OAFL grand final, with a comprehensive victory over the Broadview Hawks.

The Eagles had control of the game all day, working harder and making sure they played a solid four quarters of football to have a birth in the grand final.

“This is fantastic, I'm proud of the boys for coming out and playing some good football today” stated Eagles coach Aaron Falcioni. "Our goal all season was to make it to the grand final and redeem last year... now we're one game away."

The Hawks, who hit some great form in the latter part of the season, just couldn't keep up with the harder running Eagles. Their roller coaster season finally came to an end.

The first quarter was all one way traffic with the Eagles dominating play around the ground. Marsh, Capoferri, Alister and Minaker had solid quarters for the Eagles while the Hawks struggled to score a point.

"We really came out firing that quarter” stated Eagle Frank Luisser "We totally dominated them around the ground and they had no answer for it."

The second was a little closer than the score would suggest. The Hawks were unable to add to their score but were able to hold the Eagles to four points.

"This was pretty similar to last week against Hamilton" commented backman Matt Bachinski. "They seem to step it up a notch and play a little harder."

The third quarter saw the Hawks finally register a goal for the match finishing with two, but it came at the expense of three from the Eagles. The Eagles sharp football from the first quarter returned as they took control of the game heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter saw the Eagles run away with the game kicking five goals to end the match. They were also able to rest some key players in the latter stage of the game, which will help immensely for next week.

"After the third quarter I think we took away any confidence they had" stated midfielder Kevin Minaker. "We seem to be first to the ball, hitting contests harder and finished the quarter a lot stronger.”

Troy Marsh season just keeps getting better. Marsh was dominate around the ground collecting possession after possession and scoring three goals for the match.

Just like last week against the Wildcats, the Eagles midfield looked strong and confident. Winning their contests and delivering well into the forward line.

The backline was exceptional all day, playing close on their opponents and providing a solid defensive wall for all four quarters.

The only real negative was the poor performance in front of goal, but this is sure to be rectified before next weekend at training.

The Eagles will now look towards next's weekends grand final and hopefully secure their 12th championship. Make sure you head to Humber North early and join in the grand final festivities, game starts at 2.30pm.
